Singer Featherweight 221 "Louise"Dear Pat, Roxie and Lily
Louise has arrived safely and is absolutely gorgeous! I can not believe you took the time to wrap everything. I felt like a kid on Christmas morning tearing of one package after another - each more exciting than the next. The bonuses were soooo unexpected and really brought tears to my eyes. What a very thoughtful and unexpected surprise. I'm a quilter so I know the guide will come in handy and the original instruction manual is a treasure. All of the special items you made for this machine, Pat, are so beautifully done and will be cherished.
Of course, I saved the best box for last while I 'ohhd' and 'ahhd' about each little item: the zizag and buttonhole attachments, the box of individually wrapped feet, the scissors and book and cards....but when I finally let myself lift Louise out of that perfect little box, I could not believe she was even more wonderful than the pictures had shown. I plugged her up and, yes, she runs! But I am giving her a bit of a rest in a quiet room where she can come back to room temperature! Poor dear, she has moved from sunny Florida to a cold front in central Alabama and I think her oil/lube and the gears they protect will be much happier if I give them a rest. That FedEx truck was not insulated and everything including Louise felt quite chilly!
Ah well, the time while Louise recovers from the chill will not be wasted. I have The Featherweight 221 and I, Roxie cards and Instruction manual to study and lots of little treasures to examine more closely. This will be a fun evening - Christmas came early.
Thank you so much for making this so extra special. I hope you and all of your family have a blessed and happy Christmas - Darlene
Happy QuilterOh, Pat.....I am sooooo excited. I want this machine. Definitely, NO buts about it ! Why, you ask? 1. Well, I am a strong believer in fate and coincidence. 2. I have watched your site for over 2 years and recognized a long time ago that this is a work of love for you, a passion, not just a business. 3. We also have a 10 yr old dog named Roxie ! 4. When I began to read your quick reply to my questions and you stated that this machine was manufactured on 10-26-50.......that is our wedding anniversary ( not the 1950 part ) ! 5. I only like to deal with people who are knowledgeable about their product and YOU certainly are. 6. I showed your beautiful pictures of the machine to my son-in-law who is an amateur photographer AND an e-bay seller ( m7powers ) and he was in awe ! 7. I recently joined a quilt guild here in our new retirement town and several of the women said that to be a really good quilter I HAD to have a Featherweight.
Love my new FeatherweightHi Pat!
I LOVE the machine! It is definitely the best machine I own! I love all of the accessories too! Your information packet has been very helpful and a fantastic source of information! I'm sure I will refer to it often! Thank you so much for everything!!!
I am going to be sharpening my quilting skills this spring, so I am sure I will be toting the little featherweight along with me to class!!
Thanks again and I look forward to hearing from you if you ever run across a 1933 featherweight!! Also, I have learned that there is a Texas edition machine...being a Texan, I'd L-O-V-E to own one of those little darlings too!! Please let me know if you ever run across one of those that is for sale!!
Have a great week!
LOVE MY NEW MACHINEDear roxie8759,
Hi - this is Laurie Priano. My husband, DJ, surprised me on Christmas morning with a beautiful Singer featherweight. I was truly surprised. On some Christmases, we decide not to give each other presents that are surprises, but this Christmas was different. I love my new machine. I sewed on it the other day and it reminds me of the story of the "little engine that could". It sews just as you said, straight and true. I really had fun opening all of the little attachments that you had wrapped and identified individually. I grew up sewing on a 1950 Singer slant-needle that my mother still has and uses. Some of the parts, like the buttonholer reminded me of making my own clothes (when I was much younger and fabric was much cheaper). Now I piece quilts. I have a Bernina that I use mostly, but I know that I will be taking this little cutie to my weekly sewing group. I am especially looking forward to showing it off to my sewing friends. Thank you for doing such a beautiful job!
What a Wonderful MachineMerry Christmas!! I am so slow to open email! But I have been busy quilting for Christmas!! I gave diamond a hug yesterday as she was sewing some charity quilts for babies yesterday, she runs like a little champ, I am so pleased to have her!! All the little accessorie items are just a life saver, the little bad for the cord and the drop plate really are protecting her heritage, thanks a lot. I hope you have a merry christmas, please email me when you list another featherweight and I will pass on the info!! Lorri H
Sew ExcitedGood morning! I often look at your machines and drool (I try not to get it on the keyboard!). This is the first time I've ever seen the Roxie Instruction Card. Have you ever thought about selling them (at premium price of course!)? I think it would be a great idea, esp for the newbies (and some of us oldbies!) to have everything right there! You are one of the premier FW sellers and I have much respect for you. And I'd love to come and play with Roxie and Lily--ya got any more? They are so gosh darn cute! Thanks, and many blessings, Cathy
My GREAT Machine From RoxieDear Pat
Thank you for your kind words. Things are returning to normal for us now......or as normal as they can be 2 weeks before Christmas w/ 10 grandchildren to remember! That is where Stella comes into play. I decided to make pillow cases for all 10 grandkids, using material with themes of their current interests. Out came Stella and , although I practiced a little to get the feel of her, I really did not need to. She works like a charm. Such a beautiful perfect stitch every single time. The 10 cases are done and after the holidays I plan on trying out her other attachments., I cannot say enough about my experience of working with you on this purchase. As I said before, I went to the "master' of Featherweights and am sure glad I did. Everytthing about this machine, from her perfect stiches to her laminated instruction booklet was exactly as you promised. She came beautifully packaged and her "wardrobe: is delightful. The girls at my quilt guild were amazed at the attention to detail you did. Thank you again for this wonderful addition to my sewing studio. May you both have a Happy Holiday Season and a Healthy New Year. Sincerely
A very satisfied customer
What a GREAT Job! I love her!I am so looking forward to putting my "baby" together. I forgot to mention what a beautiful job you did on Suki Sue's cover. It fits her.... Thanks so much.
Wonderful Queen Anne Cabinet LOVE HERPat, and pups:
I received my cabinet and it arrived in perfect condition; your pix and packing were perfect. As predicted, the hinges arrived first (yea USPS)
My husband put it together immediately and I remembered how to lock the feed pedal into the cabinet to make it work. It is beautfiul and my sisters were happy as well as it reminded them of of sewing with Mom. I can't believe she actually picked out all of our mistakes...oh my.
Again, thank you so much. I am taking it out to our cabin this week-end where we go to relax at the end of our work-week with our dogs. I already have sewing projects on the table to greet me when we arrive on Friday.
I love my machine; it is better than I could have dreamed. I actually like it more than my new Bernina. It sits in the dining room overlooking the lake where I can sew and look out the window all at the same time! Although I put the machine down in the cabinet, I have the cover sitting on top of it for show when I am not using it. I made new dining room curtains with it and it sewed like a dream!
Thanks again...keep up the great work of renewing and restoring these great products....there is nothing like them. Linda
